The Fan District: The Fan is a 100 acre district within Richmond, VA, specifically within the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) campus, that got its name due to the fan-like shape of the arrangement of the streets that stretch from Belvidere St, Monroe Park of VCU, and west into Arthur Ashe blvd. This location is known for its architectural styles in relation to Queen Anne, Colonial Revival and Italianate. It is a 85-block Victorian district with beautiful sightseeing opportunities and is one of the largest collections of Victorian houses in the USA. Being a part of VCU also adds to the experience of being able to visit campus activities such as sports, educational and cultural events.

Hollywood Cemetery: Hollywood Cemetery, a fully functional cemetery in Richmond, Virginia, was founded in 1847. Hollywood Cemetery is regarded as a garden cemetery and was created in 1847 by renowned Philadelphia architect John Notman, a landscape design that rose to popularity in the 19th century. The cemetery, which covers 135 acres of valleys, hills, and majestic trees, is situated in the state capital of Virginia on the banks of the James River. In contrast to the grid-like design of contemporary cemeteries, it stands out for its natural and architectural beauty, and its natural beauty has won its designation as a certified arboretum. The most well-known use of Hollywood Cemetery is as the resting site of Presidents James Monroe and John Tyler. The majority of people are unaware that Hollywood Cemetery is also home to some of Virginia’s greatest natural tree specimens. These old trees, although being in a cemetery, are still standing and provide shade for several renowned people’s graves.
