Brown’s Island was created in 1789 as a portion of the Haxall Canal and was given that name in honor of the island’s first settler, Elijah Brown, who bought the area in 1826. It served as the location of the Confederate States Laboratory, where women and children created ammunition and other military supplies during the American Civil War.

The Edgar Allen Poe Museum:
The Poe Museum, also known as the Edgar Allan Poe Museum, is a museum honoring American author Edgar Allan Poe that is situated in Richmond, Virginia’s Shockoe Bottom area.. One of the largest collections of original manuscripts, correspondence, first editions, mementos, and personal items is housed in the museum. The museum also gives a general picture of Richmond in the early 19th century, where Poe resided and worked. The museum showcases Poe’s life and career by highlighting his lengthy residence in Richmond and commemorating his accomplishments via photographs, artifacts, and verse.

The Jefferson Hotel
In Richmond, Virginia, the United States, The Jefferson Hotel was established in 1895. It was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1969.

The National
Richmond, Virginia’s National Theater is a historical theater. It is the last remaining auditorium of Theater Row, a city block along the 700 block of Broad Street that was previously home to the theater district. It is situated in the Grace Street Commercial Historic District and was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
It has various special events scheduled which makes the theater special.
