- Historic St. John’s Church
- St. John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia, is one of America’s most important historic sites, where – swayed by Patrick Henry’s powerful argument “Give me liberty or Give me death!” – the delegates made a decision that changed the course of history, lighting the spark of the War for Independence.
- Tours available here
- Libby Hill
- This seven-acre park was one of the first five parks designed by city engineer Wilfred Cutshaw during the 1850s. Picturesque carriage roads connect the park and residences on the hilltop to the river and commercial areas below. Today the park continues to function as a space for passive recreation and community gatherings, and is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the city. You’ll find runners, readers, and photographers there often, and if you’re lucky you may even spot a proposal!
- It was designated a National Historic Landmark as part of the St. John’s Church Historic District in 1969.

- The Virginia Capital Trail transports visitors through time as it travels nearly 52 miles between the state’s early capital at the Jamestown Settlement and its current capital city of Richmond, traversing lands first inhabited by the Powhatan, Chickahominy, and other Native Americans. Along the way, the smooth pathway follows Scenic Route 5, offering access to trailside businesses and views of historical sites, natural areas, rolling countryside, and the James River.
